The Big Ideas Fest Scholarship program ensures the participation of a diverse mix of education stakeholders whose voices and contributions are critically important in increasing innovation in education. The scholarship program benefits recipients in their ability to attend and the community at large as well because each recipient contributes a service that helps capture and share Big Ideas Fest with the public. Some services include social media outreach, video capture or editing, blogging, photography, and Big Ideas Fest-related lesson plans. Recipients receive training and support from ISKME team members on how to effectively perform their assigned service before and/or during Big Ideas Fest. Scholarship awards range from providing registration to including travel and lodging costs. Applications are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and applicants are notified of the status of their application within three weeks of submission. Scholarship applicants must be able to attend the entire Big Ideas Fest, December 4-7, 2011. |
